Ovation 2.4 is Here!

This release brings the brand-new Podcast scenario, the choice to use either of Ovation's two powerful AI voice engines, significant improvements to recording performance, and an experimental Response Tip feature.

New Scenario: Podcast

Step into a fully equipped virtual studio and run the show exactly the way you imagine it.

Host the Podcast

Describe your dream guest or have the AI generate one based on a topic.

Be the Guest

Describe your dream host or provide a short bio and have the AI generate a host knowledgeable about the topic.

AI Voice Engines

Certain scenarios with a single AI avatar can now use either of Ovation's two voice engines.

Engine #1: Classic

The Classic pipeline transcribes microphone audio to text, sends it to ChatGPT for a response, and then uses Eleven Labs to generate the avatar's voice. Each avatar has a unique voice due to this integration. Classic uses a newer, more advanced ChatGPT model that better handles detailed instructions and uses fewer AI tokens, helping conserve your monthly limit.

Engine #2: Speech-to-Speech

Speech-to-Speech sends your audio directly to ChatGPT, allowing it to capture details like pronunciation and accent that are lost in the Classic approach. The same model also generates the avatar’s voice, and you can use Scenario Modifiers to adjust how it speaks. However, this method uses significantly more AI tokens, so it's best reserved for cases where those extra audio details are important.

Recording Performance

Recordings are now saved to your device while they are ongoing. This helps prevent performance issues and crashes from your device running out of memory (RAM) during longer recordings. If you previously experienced crashes on the older Quest 2 headset, this update should prevent that going forward.

Response Tip (Experimental)

Have you ever been asked a direct question but didn't know how to respond? You can now ask AI for a tip. For example, during the Interview scenario, the AI interviewer may ask why you are interested in the role. A Response Tip might advise you to "Highlight how your skills and passions uniquely align with the role's specific goals and responsibilities." You can enable/disable the Response Tip feature at any time in the Settings menu under Recordings > Dialogue Notification Options.
